About Us:

The first company of the Alfing group (MAFA) was founded in 1911 by Mr. Karl Kessler with the ambition to produce long lasting and wear-resistant crankshafts.  When it was realized that induction hardening and forging is a key element in the manufacturing process, they started to specialize in this as well.

In 1938, an additional part of the Alfing group was formed (ALFING), focusing on the manufacture of special purpose machines, flexible manufacturing systems and machining centers. 

This was followed by the third company of the group, Alfing Manufacturing Technologies, (AMT) which was founded in 1981, specializing in assembly, automation and nut-running equipment. 

The US subsidiary, Alfing Corporation was founded in 1992 and has since then established itself as a major supplier in the automotive and other large scale manufacturing industries.  Since its foundation, Alfing Corporation has sold over 200 manufacturing systems, special purpose machines and machining centers throughout the United States and Mexico.

From our office in Plymouth, MI we provide our North American customers with complete product support, including sales, service, spare parts, project management, simultaneous engineering and system integration.  Our goal is to build long lasting relationships with our customers and to provide them with complete and flexible solutions in today’s ever changing environment.
